Hearing Tonight on Riverfront Park Plans

The will hold a public informational meeting tonight on the . The meeting begins at 8 p.m., in the council chambers in Town Hall.

The town is considering a $12 million expansion of the park off Welles Street, which would include a $4 million two-story boat house. The expansion plan would include new boat ramps for motorized and non-motorized boats and would give Glastonbury it's first public access to the Connecticut River.

which is endorsed by the Glastonbury High School's crew team. The team, one of the largest at the school, would be able to store its equipment and get better access to the river under the expansion plan.

The project, which would go before voters in a November referendum, would include a skating rink and a basketball court.
