Sound Body Choir sessions to be held at Ravenwood Holistic Wellness Center

Interested in vocal improvisation? A weekend session of Sound Body Choir: Singing for Sound Bodies and Sound Minds will be held Friday, May 2 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, May 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Ravenwood Holistic Wellness Center, 199 West Center St., Manchester.

Led by Margo Hennebach, Sound Body Choir incorporates body awareness, movement and vocal improv. Sessions involve warming up the body to open the breath and joints, and grounding the voice and establishing a safe place from which to sing. Hennebach is a classically trained pianist, has a graduate degree in Music Therapy, and has worked with such improv luminaries as Rhiannon and Bobby McFerrin. She is a trained Feldenkrais teacher, touring musician and recording artist.

The cost is $20 for Friday night and $110 for Saturday. Register for both sessions for $110 and get Friday night for free. Early bird registration by April 20 is $100 for both sessions. Doors open one-half hour before each session; wear comfortable clothing. Call 860-206-2746 for registration. For information, visit www.margohennebach.com or http://www.ravenwoodhealing.com/
