Calling Hours for Jane Modlesky Tonight, Funeral Friday

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Modelsky's fatal Sunday crash.

Just days after the tragic crash that took the life of 17-year-old Glastonbury High School student Jane Modlesky, family and friends will be able to say their final goodbyes at calling hours tonight.

Modlesky, a lacrosse star who would have been a GHS senior in the fall, was killed after crashing an SUV she was driving into a tree on Woodhaven Road at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, according to police.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation, police said.

Modlesky’s died of “multiple blunt traumatic injuries” and was ruled an accident, according to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Calling hours will be held for Modlesky tonight from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave. There will be a passenger shuttle bus that will run from Hebron Avenue Elementary School, 1363 Hebron Ave., to the funeral home.

A funeral will be held Friday morning at 10 a.m. in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., followed by a burial in Green Cemetery.

A “Jane Modlesky Scholarship Fund” was set up in the teen’s honor.  Donations can be sent to:

An informal memorial was set up at the site of the crash on Woodhaven Road, with well-wishers sending prayers, flowers and balloons with messages.  Balloons are available at the site for those wishing to write a message of love for Modlesky.
