Glastonbury’s Congregation Kol Haverim Hosting Interactive Broadcast with Supreme Court Justice

The Glastonbury congregation is hosting an interactive broadcast on Feb. 5 with Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

 

Congregation Kol Haverim is partnering with New York-based 92nd Street Y and the Jewish Community Relations Council to bring an interactive broadcast with Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor to Glastonbury.

On Feb. 5, the congregation will present “Live from NY’s 92nd Street Y”, this time featuring Sotomayor and novelist and professor of law Thane Rosenbaum. “Live from NY’s 92nd Street Y” is a series of lectures, interviews, panels and readings featuring influential newsmakers, political figures and authors.

Sotomayor is the first Hispanic justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.

The event will begin at 7:15 p.m. on Feb. 5 at Congregation Kol Haverim at 1079 Hebron Ave., with broadcasting beginning at 8 p.m. The program is expected to run approximately 75 – 90 minutes. Advance tickets for the event will be sold for a $10 donation, though students have free entry. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $15, provided any are still available.
