It's Time to Restore South Glastonbury Public Library!

The South Glastonbury Public Library is trying to raise $150,000 to restore their historic building.

The South Glastonbury Public Library is one of the oldest all-volunteer run libraries in the nation.  But the historic library has been closed since last October due to roof problems and a need for repairs.

Now local residents can help restore this historic landmark by donating to a fundraising campaign.

The library is looking to raise $150,000 for the restoration of its 1828 building, 80 High St., South Glastonbury.

“Every cent raised will go directly toward the cost of the much needed restoration work,” Library President Theresa Barney said in a released statement. “While we are very pleased and grateful to the community for its response thus far, we still have a long way to go.”

“Volunteerism is the heart of our institution,” Barney said. “We depend on the public for most of our financial support.”
