Maggie McFly's Bringing "Unique Eatery" to Glastonbury

The restaurant chain will move in to the old Houlihan's Restaurant building at 40 Glastonbury Boulevard.

A new restaurant will take up residence at the old Houlihan’s building when Maggie McFly’s Unique Eatery opens its doors later this fall.

Maggie McFly’s, a family friendly restaurant with a globetrotting theme, has locations in Brookfield, Middlebury and Southbury. The paperwork to open the newest location in Glastonbury at 40 Glastonbury Boulevard will be filed with the town within the next two weeks, Maggie McFly’s owner Ray Harper said.

The restaurant is expected to open in late fall.

The location was originally a Bennigan’s Restaurant before it closed, becoming a Houlihan’s until that, too closed. Angelico’s took over the location and kept most of the Houlihan’s interior, but then closed its doors in June 2011.

“The whole place is going to be gutted,” Harper said, explaining plans to completely redesign the restaurant’s interior.

According to Harper, though each Maggie McFly’s location is different, the interior design of the Glastonbury restaurant would most closely resemble the Brookfield establishment. According to their website, the Maggie McFly’s menu includes “basic dishes and comfort food,” as well as seasonal and more exotic items and drinks.
