Glastonbury Gas Station Sells $10,000 Lottery Ticket

David Troiano, of South Windsor, won the top prize in the "10X Cash 6th Edition" game.

The following is a press release from the CT Lottery:

What a way to end the week!” said David Troiano of South Windsor to Lottery officials Friday afternoon.

Having finished his work for the day, paving roads in the hot summer sun, Troiano stopped at Valero Food Mart, located at 592 Hebron Avenue in Glastonbury to cash a winning lottery ticket.

With his winnings, he decided to purchase two more tickets—a “Pinball Wizard XVII” and a “10X Cash 6th Edition.” The Pinball Wizard was a $40 winner, but the 10X Cash ticket, much to Troiano’s surprise, turned out to be a $10,000 top prize winner.

“I was completely shocked,” Troiano told Lottery officials.

Only an hour after purchasing his winning lottery tickets, Troiano was standing in the lobby of CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill—sporting a big smile on his face—to receive his prize check for $6,833 (value after taxes).  “Some of this will go in the bank.  My wife is going on vacation tomorrow so she’s taking some of it…and her birthday is Sunday.”

For selling Troiano his top prize winning ticket, Valero Food Mart will receive a $100 bonus check from the CT Lottery.

Of the 113 top prizes in the game; 63 top prizes remain to be claimed.  The overall odds of winning a prize in 10X Cash 6th Edition are 1 in 3.95.

The CT Lottery reminds the public that purchasers must be 18 or older, and to please play responsibly.  For information about the Connecticut Lottery Corporation, visit ctlottery.org.
