It’s time to carve your local pumpkins in the town’s annual children’s pumpkin decorating contest this Wednesday at the Riverfront Community Center.
The parks and recreation department is hosting their annual kids’ decorated pumpkin contest on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at the Riverfront Community Center at 300 Welles St. Children should bring their entries to the community room of the center between 6:15 and 6:30 p.m. The entries will be judged beginning at 6:45 p.m.
A winner will be selected for the funniest, scariest and most original pumpkins. Each child may choose one category only, and all pumpkins must be pre-carved or pre-decorated upon submission. Pre-registration for the contest is required.
Halloween-themed games and activities will take place during the judging, and snacks will be served following the presentation of the awards.
And while you’re decorating pumpkins, snap a picture of your child’s submission and enter it into Glastonbury Patch’s Favorite Jack’O’Lantern Contest for a chance to win some Patch prizes!
