Glastonbury Schools to Close Early

Inclement weather has caused school officials to call for early dismissal from school.

 

Glastonbury Public Schools will close early Mon., Jan. 28.

School officials announced the closings hours before the state is expected to be covered with snow and ice. All after school activities are cancelled.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for Glastonbury, and The National Weather Service has forecast snow for Mon., Jan. 28.

According to the service, snow is expected to begin falling around noon. As the snow falls, conditions are expected to worsen as sleet and freezing rain will follow.

Early dismissal times by school are as follows:

Glastonbury High School, 12:30 p.m.

Smith Middle School, 1:10 p.m.

Gideon Welles School, 1:10 p.m.

Buttonball Lane School, 1:35 p.m.

Eastbury School, 2 p.m.

Hebron Avenue School, 2 p.m.

Hopewell School, 1:35 p.m.

Naubuc School, 1:35 p.m.

Nayaug School, 2 p.m.
