Glastonbury Police Officers to Host Tip-A-Cop to Support Special Olympics Connecticut at Bertucci’s

**RESCHEDULED FOR 12/11/13**


The Glastonbury Police Department and Bertucci’s are teaming up to host a Tip-a-Cop event that will benefit Special Olympics Connecticut on Wednesday, December 11th from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. The event will take place at Bertucci’s, located at 2882 Main Street, Glastonbury. Police officers will don aprons, take orders and serve meals to restaurant patrons for the evening, working alongside restaurant employees. All tips they receive will go to Special Olympics, to support the nearly 15,000 athletes of all abilities who participate in its programs, year-round. The Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics Connecticut is one of the movement's largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicles. This year-round program involves law enforcement officers from across the state who volunteer their time to raise awareness and funds through events including Tip-a-Cops, Cop-on-Tops, Jail N’ Bails. In 2012, the Torch Run raised over $500,000 for Special Olympics Connecticut.
