Boyfriend Named a Suspect in Jini Barnum’s Death, Says Police Chief

The last person to see Jini Barnum alive was Anthony Garofalo, a convicted sex offender who served jail time for kidnapping, police said.

Anthony Garofalo, the boyfriend of Jini Barnum who reported her missing in late July, has now been named a suspect in Barnum’s death, a police official said.

In an email response to East Hampton-Portland Patch, East Hampton Police Chief Matthew Reimondo confirmed that Garofalo is considered to be a suspect in the investigation, which now includes both Glastonbury police and the Connecticut State Police’s major crimes unit.

Barnum’s remains along Windham Road Sunday morning in Glastonbury. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed the remains were Barnum’s following an autopsy Monday and that her death has been ruled a homicide. The office declined, however, to state her actual cause of death because the family had yet to be notified.

In an interview with The Hartford Courant, Reimondo noted that Garofalo is one of several people his department will be speaking to throughout the course of the police investigation.

I have a question about the death of jini Barnum, there was another death last year another girl that belonged to the eagles club that was found dead in Cromwell. Could there be any connections since they were both found partially burried. Doesn't say much for the Middletown Eagles club and for letting sex offenders join. I've been saying for a long time someone was gonna get killed in that club.
