Glastonbury Man Accused of Threatening Police with a Gun

Glastonbury Police had gone to the man's home to check on his welfare.


A Glastonbury man whose home Glastonbury Police went to for a "welfare check, is accused of threatening officers with a gun.

Michael Murphy, 38, of Matson Hill Road, is facing multiple charges in connection with the July 23 incident, according to a WTNH report. Police said officers responded to the home for a “welfare check”  on a “distraught 38-year-old intoxicated male,” according to the report.

Murphy reportedly fled the scene after threatening officers in the driveway of his home. Police obtained an arrest warrant charging him with several offenses including criminal use of a firearm and reckless endangerment and arrested him on July 24.

Murphy’s bond was set at $450,000.
