Glastonbury Police: East Hartford Man Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Girl

Police say a young woman told Glastonbury officers that she had been sexually abused for years.

 

An East Hartford man was arrested Thursday on charges that he sexually assaulted a juvenile family member.

Amalio Santiago, 66, of 1403 Main St., Apt. 1G, East Hartford, was arrested on three (3) counts of first-degree sexual assault, two (2) counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and four (4) counts of risk of injury to a minor.

The investigation began after a young woman reported to the Glastonbury police department that she had been sexually abused for years by a family member.

As a result of the investigation, Santiago was arrested Thursday and held in lieu of $500,000 bond to be presented in court on March 1.
