[UPDATE] Police Identify 17-Year-Old Killed in Crash on Woodhaven Road

Police say the 17-year-old Glastonbury resident was involved in a fatal head-on collision with a tree.

UPDATE: 9:53 a.m.

Police have identified the 17-year-old girl killed in a one-car accident early Sunday morning as Elizabeth Jane Modlesky, of Glastonbury.

Officers said that Modlesky was involved in a single vehicle accident with a tree on Woodhaven Road in the early morning hours on Sunday; she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Glastonbury Police Traffic Division at (860)652-4254.

Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred early Sunday morning.

At 5:36 a.m. on Sunday morning, Glastonbury police responded to a report of a motor vehicle crashed into a tree in the 400 block of Woodhaven Road. Upon arrival, police determined that the female operator had collided with the tree.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene; her identity has not been released, pending notification of her next of kin.

The investigation is still underway with the Glastonbury Police Department and the Metro Traffic Service.
