Glastonbury Woman's Caregiver Stole $645 of Forged Checks
Victoria Booker, 46, of Hartford, faces several charges after stealing checks from a Glastonbury woman, according to police.
A Hartford woman is facing several charges for allegedly forging and cashing several checks from the Glastonbury woman for whom she was providing care.
South Windsor Police on Thursday arrested Victoria Booker, 46, of 1501 Main Street, Hartford, for stealing a woman’s checks and cashing $645 worth of them in November 2012, according to Sgt. Scott Custer.
Booker, who was employed as the victim’s caregiver, was charged with larceny in the second degree, forgery in the second degree and identity theft in the third degree.
Custer said that Booker told police that she “needed money,” though no other motive was provided. The case was referred to South Windsor from the Glastonbury police department, Custer said.
Booker was held on $35,000 surety bond and was scheduled to be presented at Manchester Superior Court later this morning.
