Lumber Truck Crash Closes Lanes of Route 2 in Glastonbury

The truck loaded with 80,000 pounds of lumber reportedly went down an embankment.


A tractor-trailer loaded with wood was involved in a crash and went down an embankment on Route 2 in Glastonbury on Tuesday morning, according to State Police and Conn DOT reports.

The truck crashed at 7:37 a.m. in the median near exit 8 eastbound and a bridge will need to be inspected, police told NBC Connecticut. The truck was carrying an 80,000-pound load of lumber, according to WTIC

One lane of Route 2 is blocked in both directions. It was not immediately known whether there were any injuries and how long it would take to clean up the debris.
