It’s National Fire Prevention Week, and the Glastonbury Volunteer Fire Department is hosting open houses for Glastonbury residents.
During the week regarding public safety and fire prevention awareness—which runs from Oct. 7-13—the town fire department will have two open house events, one on Tuesday, Oct. 9, and Friday, Oct. 12.
Both open houses will provide the public with opportunities to meet with the department’s volunteer personnel, see the town’s fire equipment and collect fire prevention awareness materials. This year’s theme from the National Fire Protection Agency is “Have Two Ways Out.”
Tuesday’s open house will happen from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Station 1 at 2825 Main St. Friday’s open house will take place from 4-8 p.m. at Station 2, 905 Main St.
