PD: Glastonbury Man Arrested for DUI had Drugs, Guns

The Hillstown Road man was found with several hundred rounds of ammunition in his car after an argument with his wife.

A Glastonbury man was arrested last Thursday after police said he got into an argument with his wife, drove drunk, and was in possession of drugs, guns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

Timothy M. Gilchrist, 47, of 1006 Hillstown Road, Glastonbury, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, driving under the influence, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics not in their original container, possession of less than ½ ounce of marijuana, failure to drive right and two (2) counts of weapons in a motor vehicle.

He was held in lieu of $150,000 bond for presentation in court the following day.

Police said that Gilchrist’s wife reported that he had threatened her and the left their home. Officers also learned that he had been drinking and was in possession of several firearms, police said.

During the investigation, officers spotted Gilchrist driving past his home. He was stopped for a traffic violation and found that he was intoxicated and in possession of several firearms, several hundred rounds of ammunition, Oxycodone and marijuana.

He is next due in court on Sept. 17.
