Police say the local man hit the dogs at the Glastonbury dog park.

A local man was arrested on breach of peace charges after police say he kicked a dog and then hit another in the face with a retractable leash at the Glastonbury dog park.

At 6:30 p.m. on Friday officers with the Glastonbury Police Department responded to the dog park on Welles St. for a report of an intoxicated man, according to a press release.

Several individuals approached officers on the scene to tell them that a man had kicked one dog and hit another in the face with a retractable leash after the other dogs had been observed roughly playing with his dog, police said.
