PD: School Psychologist Charged with Running Drug Factory in Glastonbury

A Glastonbury couple was arrested by a regional narcotics task force Wednesday.

A Glastonbury couple, including a woman who works as a school psychologist in East Hartford, was arrested at their home Wednesday by a regional narcotics task force on charges of operating a drug factory, police said.

Jessica Buggelin, 35, and Eric Buggelin, 35, of 86 Stancliff Road, were arrested on charges of operating a drug factory, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of more than 4 ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia within 1500’ of a school after members of the East Central Narcotics Task Force learned that narcotic activity was taking place at their home, according to Sgt. Anthony Palombizio.

Task force officers executed a search warrant and seized over a pound of marijuana, a scale, packing material, drug paraphernalia and $2,415 in cash.

The couple was taken into custody without incident, and were each released on $10,000 non-surety bond.

During the arrest, Buggelin identified herself as a school psychologist at East Hartford Middle School.

In a press release issued Thursday, East Hartford Superintendent Nathan Quesnel said that the district had placed an employee on administrative leave after being arrested at her home, but did not name Buggelin.

Buggelin is listed online on the school’s staff directory.
