Police: 100 Bags of Heroin Seized in Glastonbury Bust

A regional narcotics task force arrested a Hartford man Wednesday night.

A Hartford man was arrested Wednesday after police say they seized 100 bags of heroin during a bust near Hubbard Drive.

At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday officers with the East Central Narcotics Task Force conducted a surveillance and apprehension operation near Hubbard Drive on a suspected heroin dealer named Gilberto Lozado, according to police.

Police had been investigating Lozado for heroin sales in the area and detained him when he arrived in the area to sell heroin, police said.

During the operation officers seized 100 bags of heroin, $2,738 in cash and his 2002 Acura. Officers also detained his passenger, Jessenia Dearace.

Lozado, 21, of 49 Flatbush Ave., Hartford, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to sell and interfering with police. He was also charged by warrant with two additional counts each of possession and sale of heroin.

Lozado was held in lieu of bonds totaling $350,000.

Dearace, 20, of 55 Roxbury St., Hartford, was charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to sell. She was released on $25,000 non-surety bond.
