Police: Glastonbury Coupled Tied Up During Armed Home Invasion

A man broke into a Thompson Street home armed with a handgun and tied up the elderly couple that lived there.

 

Police are warning Glastonbury residents to stay vigilant and lock their doors after a home invasion Monday night during which an elderly couple were tied up and robbed at gunpoint.

Police are looking for an armed suspect who they say broke into a Thompson Street home at approximately 10:30 p.m. and tied up the occupants. He threatened them with a gun, and then robbed them. Police did not say what was taken.

After the suspect left, the couple dialed 911.

Responding officers attempted to track the suspect with K-9 units, but did not find anyone.

The 71-year-old woman sustained an injury to her arm during the incident. She was taken to Middlesex Hospital Marlborough Medical Center for treatment. The 69-year-old man was not injured.

The investigation is currently underway by members of the Glastonbury

Police Patrol and Investigations Divisions.
