A Hartford man who police say was driving in Glastonbury while in possession of an illegal firearm was arrested Thursday by a regional narcotics task force.
Lester Mckinely, 34, of Hartford, was arrested by warrant Thursday while he was driving in Glastonbury. The warrant came as a result of an investigation from 2011, when police say officers located an illegal handgun in a vehicle in which Mckinely was riding.
Mckinely was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, and possessing a weapon in a motor vehicle. He was released on a $25,000 non-surety bond and is due in Manchester Superior Court.
The investigation into the 2011 event is ongoing and more arrests are expected, according to Sgt. Anthony Palombizio of the East Central Narcotics Task Force.
