A Hartford man is being held in lieu of $300,000 bond after a regional narcotics task force said they seized 100 bags of heroin from him during a bust outside the Glastonbury 7 Eleven.
Members of the East Central Narcotics task force received information that a stocky Hispanic man with tattoos on his neck—known by the street name “Bird”—would be at the parking lot of the 7 Eleven, 3041 Main St., to sell a large amount of heroin, Sgt. Anthony Palombizio said.
On Sept. 12, task force members set up surveillance in the convenience store parking lot, and detained “Bird”—identified as Carlos Muniz, 43, of 79 Freeman St. in Hartford—when he arrived.
During a search, task force members seized 100 bags of heroin.
He was charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to sell. He was held in lieu of $300,000 bond.
Muniz is currently on parole for sale of narcotics, and has been arrested over 20 times in the state, Palombizio said.
