Police: Twin Brothers Arrested After Fighting Over the Same Woman

A New Year's Eve celebration didn't work out quite the way a pair of Ellington brothers planned Monday.

Twin brothers were arrested New Year's Eve after getting into a fight at a local hotel over who would have sex with the girlfriend they allegedly shared.

According to Manchester Police, Aric Ryan Hale and Sean Peter Hale, both 28, and who both reside at 51 Meadow Brook Drive in Ellington, were arrested Monday evening after getting into a physical confrontation involving an unidentified 27-year old woman who police said both brothers had a sexual relationship with.

According to the Hartford Courant, the Hale brothers and the unidentified woman checked into a local hotel and a fight ensued when Sean Hale asked his brother to leave the room so he could have sex with the woman. Manchester police spokesman Capt. Christopher Davis told the Courant that the woman admitted to being in an "open relationship" with the two brothers, and that she would have sex with them "depending on who she chooses to be with that particular day."

Both Hale brothers were arrested at their Ellington residence later that evening.

Aric Ryan Hale was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct, two counts of third-degree assault and one count of third-degree criminal mischief. Sean Peter Hale was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and third-degree criminal mischief. Both were released on $10,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on the charges on Feb. 7, 2013.

Davis said the hotel was "trashed" as a result of their confrontation. Police did not specify if the brothers were identical or paternal twins.
