SWAT Team Responds to Glastonbury Home After Woman Falls Down Stairs

A confused 911 call from a woman who hit her head after falling down the stairs in her home led police to request an armed response.

Glastonbury Police deployed an armed emergency response team to a Knollwood Drive home Sunday afternoon following a 911 call that led them to believe a woman was being threatened in her home.

The woman turned out to have fallen down the stairs, hit her head and become confused on the phone with emergency dispatch, police said.

At 2:12 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to 164 Knollwood Dr. after a female caller reported that she was being threatened. Upon arrival, officers could not locate anyone inside the residence.

Due to the suspicious circumstances of the call and as a precaution, officers backed out of the residence, secured a perimeter around the home and contacted the Capital Region Emergency Services Team.

CREST responded to the home, and further investigation determined that the woman had fallen down her stairs and struck her head.

She became confused when calling 911, police said. She was transported to Hartford Hospital for treatment. Her name was not released.
