Task Force Seizes 59.5 Pounds of Marijuana from Glastonbury Man

Ahmad Rahman, 28, of Glastonbury, is facing criminal charges after Members of the East Central Narcotics Task Force arrested him on Friday.

 

A 28-year-old Glastonbury man is facing charges after the East Central Narcotics Task Force seized 59.5 pounds of marijuana and $1,300 in cash from him in South Windsor on Dec. 14.

Ahmad Rahman, of 246 Cavan Lane, Glastonbury, was arrested by task force members after they received information that Rahman would be leaving a Sullivan Avenue business with "a large tool box full of drugs," according to a press release.

Task force officers, according to the press release, set up surveillance, and waited for Rahman to leave the business in a 2002 Jeep Cherokee. Task force officers conducted a motor vehicle stop, and Rahman was detained while officers investigated.

Rahman was charged with possession of more than 4 oz. of marijuana and possession with intent to sell. He was held on a $250,000 surety bond.

In addition to the marijuana and cash, police also seized the Jeep Cherokee. Officers also conducted a search of Rahman's Glastonbury residence, but no additional contraband was located.
