Glastonbury's Budget to be Presented at Annual Town Meeting on Jan. 23

The town budget will be presented at the annual town meeting at 7 p.m. on Jan. 23.

 

The Glastonbury town and school budgets will be presented at the annual town meeting later this month.

At 7 p.m. on Jan. 23,both Town Manager Richard J. Johnson and Superintendent Alan B. Bookman will present their combined budgets in the town council chambers of town hall.

The January budget season began last night with Bookman’s presentation of the 2013 spending plan to the Board of Education. Stay tuned to Patch for a full breakdown of the superintendent’s spending plan.

The Board will then vote on its proposed budget at a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 9.

The town manager will hold a workshop to and present the town’s capital improvement project budget on Jan. 16 in the Riverfront Community Center. The full town budget will then be presented to the Town Council, who will send it to the annual town meeting on Jan. 23. A public hearing will be held following the presentation of the budget.
