Bring out your old papers, checks, bills, and records—especially those that could give identity thieves an inlet to your personal security—to be shredded at the Glastonbury Highway Garage Saturday.
The town and the Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority will be hosting a free paper-shredding event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the garage at 2380 New London Turnpike on Saturday. The event is intended to both conserve natural resources and protect individuals’ identities, according to the town website.
Boxes of old papers, cancelled checks, bills, records, and other paper materials will be shredded at the event. However, only residential materials will be accepted; businesses are not allowed to bring their documents.
