Main Street in Glastonbury to Get New Signals

Glastonbury is replacing and installing six traffic lights at intersections along Main Street.

The Hartford Courant reported that the intersections include Putnam and Glastonbury boulevards, as well as Pratt Street.

A.M. Rizzo Electrical Contractors Inc. is working on the project, and right now is installing conduits and foundations for each signal, the Courant reported.

The new traffic lights will reportedly be a bit more high-tech than the current ones, offering a new computerized system that will employ video cameras for the use of detecting traffic changes, the Courant reported.
