New Progress on Addison Road Bridge in Glastonbury

The Addison Road Bridge over Salmon Brook in Glastonbury is on schedule to re-open to traffic by the end of November.

The town said that the Addison Road Bridge over Salmon Brook is still set to once again open to traffic by the end of November, with progress on the bridge proceeding on schedule.

This week the gas company is installing new gas mains at the Addison Road Bridge, just in time for the heating season, Assistant Town Engineer Stephen M. Braun said. Next week, the project will begin work installing the water main.

“I think we’re on a good course,” Braun said.

The arches of the bridge have been set, Braun said, and the town’s contractor—Mattern Construction, Inc.—is doing concrete work. The bridge has been closed since April 25, with a detour sign on Eastern Boulvard to reroute traffic.
