February Vacation Shortened, June Dismissal for 2013-14 Glastonbury School Year
The Glastonbury Board of Education eliminated the week-long February vacation, replacing it with a four-day weekend for the 2013-14 school year.
While school will end in early June next year, there will be no weeklong February vacation during the 2013-14 school year.
The Glastonbury Board of Education recently approved the new school calendar for the 2013-14 school year, which will reduce the February vacation from a week to a four-day weekend. The calendar calls for Monday, Feb. 17, and Tuesday, Feb. 18, off from school.

The April vacation remains a week off from school, and will be from April 14-18.
School will begin on Aug. 28 for Smith Middle School and Glastonbury High School. Pre-K through sixth-grade students will begin classes on Aug. 29. Teachers will return for a professional development day on Aug. 27.

Depending on snow days, the last day of school will be June 9.
