and teammate Margot Shumway will advance to the finals in the Olympic double scull on Friday, Aug. 3 after placing second today in the "repechages," a runoff race that determines which teams will compete in the Olympic finals.
Trowbridge and Shumway raced early Tuesday morning at the Olympics rowing site in Eton Dorney, England, finishing with a time of 7:10.37. The Chinese double sculls team, Min Wang and Weiwei Zhu, finished first with a time of 7:09.65.
In an interview Monday, after placing third in the first of the women's double sculls races, Trowbridge said she was excited to be at the London games.
"It’s really cool to be around people who have not only had similar paths to get here but definitely similar experiences and you can relate to everyone here and you get to go to the line and put down your best race," she said.
