The Big Day Approaches

A Relay For Life update from event Chair, Maria Grove:

The big day is almost upon us! The Relay for Life will be June 14th and 15th at the Riverfront Community Center – get ready for fun, food, fitness, and the opportunity to make a real difference in the fight against cancer.  At Relay For Life events, communities across the globe come together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much. The funds you raise truly make a difference in the fight against cancer – just ask one of the nearly 14 million cancer survivors who will celebrate another birthday this year!   This is what you have to look forward to this year!

Don’t worry about loosing energy during all that walking – there will be plenty of food and beverages to keep you fueled!

A number of our Teams will be doing fun activities, raffles, and fundraisers through out the Relay as well. Not only is this another way to support your friends and neighbors who have committed so much to the Relay for Life, but it is also a fun way to participate in the Relay – play games with the girl scouts, take pictures with “princesses”, buy raffle tickets for a Dooney & Bourke purse, or eat snow cones and pop corn with people taking a stand against cancer!
